spaciv raises 7-figure seed round to revolutionise how organisations consume physical space

spaciv has closed its first round of financing to accelerate product engineering and professionalise sales and success processes. The funding round was led by main incubator (early-stage VC of the Commerzbank Group), followed by experienced workplace specialists GRAEF, CSMM – architecture matters and a further co-investor. During the fundraising process, spaciv was supported by BayStartUP.

spaciv is a Munich based PropTech Startup that has been rethinking the consumption of physical space since 2020. spaciv is developing the first digital platform for the dynamic analysis and automated calculation of space requirements. With spaciv, organisations can tailor their office space to the individual needs of their employees and thus create resource-saving and productivity-increasing working environments. Early customers include the Serviceplan Group, the Versicherungskammer Bayern and CommerzReal.

“Over the past 18 months we have built a product that is enabling businesses to analyse the needs of their users and make better informed workplace decisions. We envision a platform, that automatically powers needs-driven space consumption. We are proud to have won the support of established partners to achieve this goal.”

Malte Koeditz, Founder and CEO of spaciv

Developing the right office has become an issue that is critical to the success of companies: for many businesses with office-based activities, workplace costs are among the largest expenses. The rising cost of office space in many places is making right-sizing increasingly important. At the same time, the pandemic has strengthened the trend towards flexible and highly differentiated working models, making it increasingly complex to calculate space needs. With spaciv, organisations can now create a detailed model of their user needs; simulate future scenarios; and automatically calculate their space budget. This makes it easier to deal with the complexity and dynamics of actual space requirements and enables the development of efficient and future-ready workplace strategies.

“New Work and the associated redefinition of workplaces is a development that we have been dealing with in the main incubator for a long time. Due to the acceleration of changing workplace trends, caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, we are convinced that now is the right time to enter the market with a suitable solution. spaciv has the potential to help Commerzbank and its business customers significantly optimise their use of space. We look forward to supporting spaciv on this mission.”

Christoph Osburg, Senior Investment Manager at main incubator

In addition to the financial resources, the investors are adding know-how, their respective networks and extensive company building experience to help spaciv realise its vision.
